Communications Assistant

Tower26 is hiring for a part-time (30 hours per week) professional to serve as a communications assistant. The job offers a very competitive hourly rate, the opportunity for growth in the role and the company, as well as flexibility in terms of work location.


We’re seeking a savvy, energetic, and versatile communications & media professional who is serious about social innovation. We’re looking for an energetic entrepreneur who yearns to grow in their work, with experience in PR, communications, media, and digital marketing. We also need someone who is motivated to help support the agency’s two founders with some administrative/executive assistant duties as we rapidly grow and service our clients. 

This role is diverse in its responsibilities and is a platform for a self-starting individual to grow, create, and build a presence as an important early member of a small but quickly growing agency. Communications, PR & Marketing (65%):

While we are flexible on years of experience, we would like for the person in this role to have experience working in an agency or in-house role in a communications, PR, and/or marketing capacity. The ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications and attributes:

  • Excellent first-draft writing skills

  • Well-rounded experience with implementation across areas in communications, including:

    • PR – writing releases and advisories, pitch memos, some pitching experience; media contacts a bonus

    • Marketing – working with promotional collateral; basic design skills a bonus

    • Communications – writing talking points, scripts, and other communications pieces; experience working with strategic communications plans a bonus

  • Strong social media implementation skills across platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc.)

  • Strong skills with PowerPoint or other presentation software, or desktop publishing experience a bonus

  • Highly detail oriented, reliable, and self motivated

  • Eagerness to learn new skills and grow in a role

  • Patience, flexibility and willingness to adjust to shifting timelines and evolving priorities

  • Responsiveness and ability to work in a fast-paced setting


Administrative (35%)

  • Provide scheduling support to the company’s two founders

  • Provide support with some light office duties
